The Christian County Historical Society will host an open house Sunday September 8 at the Christian County Museum. Located at 202 E. Church St., just east off the Ozark square, the museum has something for everyone. Interested in home life in the old days? We have vintage toys, a hand-operated washing machine and a rope bed. Are graphic arts your thing? Take a look at a stereoscope card viewer, movie projectors for both silent movies and “talkies,” and cameras from the turn of the century up to a 1950s stereo camera with a spirit level between the lenses. There are great photos of old grist mills, general store and medical items, railroad artifacts, a Springfield wagon, tools and much more. These are just a few of the fascinating things waiting for you to explore, so join us any time between 2-4 pm on September 8 for refreshments and a taste of the past.
