High Top Shoes

High top shoes

Stepping Out in Style, ca. 1910 -- by Linda Myers

High top shoes were the staple of fashionable turn-of-the century ladies' wardrobes. This pair from the collection of the Christian County Museum is particularly interesting because it was manufactured in Missouri by the Friedman-Shelby Shoe Company. As Friedman-Shelby advertised, all their shoes were constructed of leather and this pair, even 100 years later, are supple and evince their original quality.
